Stanko Vitez s.p. is one of the leading companies in the field of restoration and conservation works on wooden objects, such as: stylish furniture of all periods, sacral furnishings, wooden musical instruments, ethnological objects, wooden constructions on buildings and building furniture.
Our restoration work has enhanced family heritage and other wooden elements in many houses, apartment blocks, villas, mansions, castles and religious buildings.
Our most important markets are Slovenia, Italy, Austria.
The restoration work we carry out is based on professional training (at the European Centre for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Venice, with the best professors from Italy, France and Germany) and many years of experience.
We work with selected experts from the Institute for Monument Protection, architects, researchers and suppliers of quality materials.
We will inspect the object in consultation with you, give you expert advice and take it in for restoration. The restoration will be carried out in our workshop or on site. We will also deliver the carefully restored objects back to you. We have our own transport.
By restoring old wooden objects with the highest quality, we uncover real treasures under layers of paint and stain. Beautiful antiques offer warmth and elegance to a room and will be a pleasure for you and your loved ones.

The services we offer include restoration of building and interior furniture, wooden structures, vacuum hardening, and we also offer restoration courses. Our services have been carried out on private buildings such as apartments, houses, mansions and castles, as well as on cultural heritage and sacred buildings.
Through the publication of professional literature and the restoration courses we organise, we help others to get the best knowledge in the field of wood restoration. We have decided to share our wealth of knowledge and experience because too often objects are restored in the wrong way, because we want only the best for the preservation of cultural heritage objects.
A gilding course is also available.
We prove ourselves to our customers time and time again with our individual approach and, above all, our reliability. And satisfied customers have been and will continue to be the only measure of our success.
We are always at your disposal for further information. We thank you in advance for your trust and cooperation.

Restoration and structural rehabilitation
Wood is an extremely important architectural element that was very present in the construction of old buildings. By restoring it, most wooden structures can be preserved. Restored timber structures give old buildings a distinctive stamp of time that is irreplaceable with new timber or even other newer materials.
Restoration allows us to statically reinforce deteriorated elements to the point where they will continue to perform their function long into the future.
For the most complex static restorations, we use epoxy and polyester resins in combination with carbon, steel, glass fibre and rods or tapes.

Entrance doors, interior doors, partitions, shopfronts and windows
Preserving the exterior joinery is of paramount importance for the beautiful and coherent appearance of old houses. No new joinery can completely replace the original old joinery.
The most common reason for replacing old joinery with new is excessive heat loss. By making small additions to joinery, we can significantly reduce heat loss, improve safety and increase fire resistance.
Your visitors can hardly get to you without passing the front door. Let your front door tell them something nice about you.
With the help of leading experts, we have developed a system for vacuum impregnation-curing of wooden objects. Vacuum impregnation protects and hardens weak wood. The process allows the use of different hardeners and ensures impregnation throughout the entire thickness.
As a natural material, wood is highly susceptible to degradation, especially when insect and fungicidal pests come into contact with the wood. Damage to the wood occurs, which significantly alters the basic properties of the wood. The damage may be so severe that it seriously jeopardises the continued existence of the object.

Manual impregnation
To preserve the most badly damaged elements, the restorers started by hand-fixing the bad wood using glues and natural and artificial resins. Hand curing can be successful for smaller volume items because the curing agent does not penetrate the entire mass of the item when applied by hand.
Hand-impregnation-curing of larger objects only cures the outer layer, while the interior is not cured.
Vacuum impregnation
gives us excellent results, and it is on the most damaged wood that we get the best results. Interestingly, before the impregnation, the piece of wood weighed 1kg, but immediately after the impregnation it weighed 2.38kg. After conditioning and seasoning, the weight of the object is 1.37kg. The increase in weight is due to the impregnant used to harden the object.
